FRIDAY THE 13th

Friday the 13th marked a significant day for William’s for two reasons
  1. He quit his job of 9 years at IAC in Halewood
  2. It signified the start of another motorcycle adventure with his ageing partner in crime Edward’s
Williams boss Richard could not believe his luck that he was leaving of his own accord 😂. A great place to work and will be missed.

Leaving IAC for the last time

The plan this time was a short trip to France to tour some of the WW2 beaches and monuments. As usual Edward’s planned the route which is fine. However, he also booked the AirB&B for the first night in France as well and if previous efforts are anything to go by we could be sleeping in a barn.

Williams took care of the Friday night stop though by abusing the kind nature of Deb’s sister and Boyfriend Lyndsay and Mark who live in Waterlooville which is about 70 miles from Newhaven where we planned to sail from.

The ferry was leaving at 9:30 meaning an early and chilly (5 degree) start. All pretty un eventful until we got to the ferry port. The lads were pulled over for a security inspection of the bikes involving the opening of luggage to check we were not carry any illegal immigrants to France. Williams was fine as they clearly just wanted to admire the Mighty Wing but Edward’s was forced to handover the 2ft spicy sausage and 1/2 drunk bottle of babycham .

When we were called to board the boat we watched in horror as the guy on the brand new 24 plate Ducati Multistrada in front of us mounted his bike on the left and then tipped over in slow motion to the right. After helping him to pick his bike up Williams said not to worry he has the whole thing on video. No sense of humour some people.

The planned route
